The Mixed-Tape | Spines – Bite Me

Spines

In this edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to Spines and their brand new single ‘Bite Me’.

Fusing together the urgency of garage-pop with the stylised sound of noise-rock, Spines latest single ‘Bite Me’ furthers the band’s momentum as one of the countries brightest emerging talents.

With it’s almost feral noise-pop sound ‘Bit Me’ has an edge and relevancy to it that seems to come from the band with relative ease.

Containing jolting rhythms and hook-laden passages reminiscent of early September Girls recordings (see ‘Danny Wood‘), Spines’ music is aggressive, bold, infectious and most importantly individualistic. This is the sound of band who simply exude confidence.

Indeed, with the four-piece producing such raw, yet pin-point, noise-pop gems like ‘Bite Me’ Spines are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with on the Irish indie scene, and it won’t be long until that expands beyond this Island to a wider audience.

Impactful, irrepressibly infectious and highly stylised ‘Bit Me’ is an exciting new single from a band who have found their sound and seem to be reveling in it.

It is for these reasons that ‘Bite Me’ by Spines is this week’s addition to The Mixed-Tape.
