In this edition of The Last Mixed Tape’s song-of-the-week feature The Mixed-Tape, we turn our attention to ‘Everybody Loves You’ by Soak.
The return of Soak has been a long-awaited one, and ‘Everybody Loves You’ is a brilliant and organic expansion of sound from Soak that makes the wait worthwhile.
A heartfelt, slow-burning love song filled with all the raw honesty that is central to Soak’s songwriting, ‘Everybody Loves You’ also adds widening production that is richer and more depthful than we’ve seen before from the Derry artist. Resulting in a self-assured move from the past whilst remaining to true to her roots.
