In this edition of The Last Mixed Tape’s song-of-the-week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to ‘Rich’, the brand new single from Laoise.

The continuing evolution of Laoise from single to single is one of great prospect. With each new offering, the highly stylised sonic milieu has gotten broader and more ambitious. ‘Rich’ furthers this growth.

Indeed, ‘Rich’ is a track filled with statements both in terms of songwriting and sound. Each beat, lyric and texture seems to have a deeper meaning to it, while Laoise weaves her now characteristic enchanting vocal around the widening production. All of which finds the artist taking another giant leap in the right direction.
