Hard Working Class Heroes 2017 is set to take over Dublin City this weekend (Friday, September 28th – Saturday, September 29th). With only days to go, TLMT has delved deep and come up with its Guide To HWCH 2017. See below for the full rundown, Spotify playlist and stage times. 

The Workman’s Club

Fontaines – Friday: 8.45pm
Rough and raw indie-rock outfit. Latest single, ‘Liberty Belle‘.

Paddy Hanna – Friday: 10.15pm
One of Ireland’s best songwriters.

Thumper – Friday: 11pm
Noise-pop outfit Thumper will bring Friday at HWCH 2017 to a close with what should be a stand-out set from the festival.

Orchid Collective – Saturday: 7.15pm
Deeply textural indie. Check out ‘Figure It Out‘.

Molly Sterling – Saturday: 8pm
Alternative-pop artist who is starting to show considerable promise.

AE Mak – Saturday: 8.45pm
Seriously infectious, genre-melding pop.

Frankenstein Bolts – Saturday: 9.30pm
Dream-pop purveyors who just released the album Aglow & Spark.

Bitch Falcon – Saturday: 11pm
Riff-heavy trio who always deliver live.

The Grand Social

Bad Bones – Friday: 8.45pm
A truly unique artist on the Irish scene.

Le Boom – Friday: 9.30pm
Electronic two-piece who are fast becoming one of the festival acts of 2017.

Laoise – Saturday: 9.30pm
An artist who grows in stature with each new release.

Sleep Thieves – Saturday: 10.15pm
Sleep Thieves made their return earlier this year with the atmospheric ‘Is This Ready‘.

The Underground

Hvmmingbyrd – Friday: 9.45pm
Synth-pop duo Hvmmingbyrd have promised something different for this Friday with an A/V show.

Jealous of the Birds – Friday: 10.30pm
Indie artist Jealous of the Birds could very well be the surprise of HWCH 2017.

Bantum – Saturday: 10.30pm
Choice music prize nominee. Read TLMT review of Bantum’s Move.

Tramline

Erica-Cody – Friday: 7.45pm
Definition of “one to watch”.

Elm – Friday: 9.15pm
Elm return for HWCH 2017, it will be interesting to hear how things have changed since last year.

Loah – Friday: 10pm
Always an engaging and unique live performer.

Jafaris – Friday: 10.45pm
A born showman with a sound as brash and dynamic as its creator.

Super Silly – Saturday: 7.45pm
Hotly tipped R&B outfit that have impressed with each live show.

Rocstrong – Saturday: 10pm
He impressed last year, and will no doubt do the same with a later slot at Tramline.

Soulé – Saturday: 10.45pm
All eyes wtihin the Irish music industry may very well be on Soulé’s set at Hard Working Class Heroes 2017.

The Tara Building

Lilla Vargen – Friday: 8.45pm
Belfast-based songwriter on the cusp of breaking through.

Aislinn Logan – Saturday: 7.15pm
Depthful indie-folk.

Ivan Nicholas – Saturday: 8pm
Arcade Fire-esque alternative-rock artist. New single ‘Moving On‘.

Maria Kelly – Saturday: 8.45pm
Maria Kelly returns to Hard Working Class Heroes this year with considerable momentum following the release of her debut E.P. The Things I Should.

Rosa Nutty – Saturday: 9.30pm
Rosa Nutty’s latest E.P. Pips identified the artist as a one to watch on the scene.
