Premiere | Montauk Hotel return with the jangling ‘Sense of Place’

Montauk Hotel - Sense of Place Promo Shot

The Last Mixed Tape is proud to premiere the brand new music video for ‘Sense of Place’ by Montauk Hotel.

The follow-up single to Montauk Hotel’s stand-out debut E.P, ‘Sense of Place’ finds the self-styled shimmer-pop group delving further into their music and coming up with a fuller picture of their overall sound.

Indeed, the latest offering from Montauk Hotel works to establish the jangling, reverb drenched flourishes that have become a key characteristic for the four-piece.

Taking influence from the likes of U2, the Smiths and even a hint of Roxy Music, Montauk Hotel’s vividly portrayed, sonically lush take on the indie-pop genre works in stark contrast to other acts going down a more D.I.Y/lo-fi route, setting the band apart from the pack.

Montauk Hotel will celebrate the release of ‘Sense of Place’ with a headline show upstairs in Whelan’s this Saturday, August 12th. Tickets are €6, support on the night comes from Exiles and Beauty Sleep. For more information visit the event’s Facebook page – here.
