King Kong Company have unveiled their brand new music video for the single ‘Space Hopper’, taken from the group’s forthcoming debut album.
As daft and full-on as you’d expect a King Kong Company video to be, the visuals for ‘Space Hopper’ start off at frantically set colorfully designed bingo hall (think, a bingo hall if it were run by King Kong Company) and descend further into an ocular explosion of warping effects and quick cutting images.
Indeed, the music of ‘Space Hopper’ is an all out attack on the senses. Fast moving synth patterns and fuzzing melodies all culminate to create King Kong Company’s buzzsaw electro-pop sound, before giving way to a manic, sermonizing vocal.
‘Space Hopper’ is abrasive, visceral and heavy in its production. With such a powerful concoction of electro-pop music at their disposal it will be interesting to hear how King Kong Company deliver it within the context of a full album.
King Kong Company will launch the release of the debut album with a show at the Academy in Dublin on November 27th. Tickets are on sale now via ticketmaster.ie. See upcoming live dates below.
