The Mixed-Tape | The North Sea – Decay

The North Sea

In this edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to the North Sea’s new single ‘Decay’.

A stellar follow-up to the North Sea’s stand-out single ‘Drinking Alone’, ‘Decay’ finds the group in more weightier territory sonically. Containing a strong undercurrent of pounding drums and densely layered guitar the track has a strong backbone that it maintains from start to finish.

However, the band’s trademark post-punk/indie jangle remains in tact, and pulled forward by vocalist Eoin Kenny’s focus grabbing performance ‘Decay’ bounds from hook to hook with craft and confidence.

‘Decay’ is yet another glimpse into the North Sea’s upcoming debut album, and with the five-piece gaining momentum in the build-up to its release the single is brilliant pre-cursor to what is a hotly anticipated record.
