In this edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to I’m Your Vinyl’s new single ‘Erase It’.
A marked improvement in style and production over last year’s ‘No Regrets’, ‘Erase it’ is as fun and infectious as you’re likely to hear this year. Brimming with indie and retro-pop hooks the track is simply compelling from beginning to end.
Crackling with a retro-pop beats and bursting with funk tinged brass the production of ‘Erase it’ is brilliantly stylized and works to give the music definition, with slight bit of grit that underlines the record’s sound allowing the track to avoid pristine pop pitfalls.
Key to the single’s success is the Dana Donnelly’s performance. Soulful one moment and vivacious the next it’s Donnelly’s ability to smoothly transition with the music effectively that makes ‘Erase it’ work.
A sublime new single, from a band who have clearly found there sound. To see how they continue this, will be very exciting indeed.
