In this edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to Liza Flume and her track ‘Sheets’.
Taken from Flume’s new three-track E.P. entitled Morning Light, ‘Sheets’ is a deeply atmospheric and starkly set return from the artist.
Occupying a tranquil soundscape the regret, introspective emotional backbone of Liza Flume’s songwriting is given a more fully realized production that feels like a natural culmination of her previous work, with the overall sense of the music feeling more cathartic.
In recent stand-alone and debut E.P releases from Liza Flume it always felt that the songwriter was reaching, even searching for something, whether that be a specific sound or inspiration. Flume went away to Sydney to record ‘Sheets’ (and indeed Morning Light), and returned with what she had been looking for.
