LCD Soundsystem – Tonite
The latest single to be taken from LCD Soundsystem’s comeback album American Dream, ‘Tonite’ does what James Murphy and co. do so well. Conversational, lyrically introspective, hypnotically rhythmic and simply infectious.
Ardyn – Throwing Stones
Big ambitious synth-pop track ‘Throwing Stones’ is the latest offering from English siblings Ardyn. Produced by Tourist, the song has a lush, far-reaching sound filled with electronic pops and clicks.
Alvvays – Plimsoll Punks
The hazy summer soaked indie-pop sound of Alvvays is a welcome one. ‘Plimsoll Punks’ is a vibrant hook-filled slice taken from the Canadian group’s upcoming sophomore offering Antisocialites (due out next month).
Gordi – Bitter End
A patient indie-folk cut from Australian songwriter Gordi, ‘Bitter End’ is a further insight into the artist’s forthcoming debut Reservoir.
Pale Waves – Television Romance
Pure glistening synth-pop with a big sound. ‘Television Romance’ is an instantly infectious track from Manchester’s Pale Waves.
Haarm – Valentine
The whispered vocals and propellant backdrop of ‘Valentine’, by Liverpool band Haarm, makes for a compelling textural push and pull, made all the more effective by the song’s pitch perfect production.
Dream Wife – Fire
The ragged buzzing post-punk of ‘Fire’ by Dream Wife, is an explosive up-tempo introduction to the trio’s hard-edged sound.
Wolf Alice – Beautifully Unconventional
Wolf Alice give another exciting sign of things to come from their Visions of Life album (due out on September 29th) with the jumping, quick change indie of anthemic new single ‘Beautifully Unconventional’.
