ANNA MEREDITH

Body & Soul 2017 is set to descend upon Ballinlough Castle, County Westmeath this weekend (June 23rd to 25th) for three days of festival music and arts. With this in mind, TLMT presents its Guide To Body & Soul 2017, and Spotify playlist.

Body&Soul Stage

Bonobo
Currently touring his brilliant sixth studio album Migration Bonobo will come to Body&Soul 2017 with a headline slot on the main stage.

Sleaford Mods
One of the most innovative post-punk bands out there, Nottingham duo Sleaford Mods are always a must see.

La Femme
French psych-punk outfit La Femme work as a mix between the Velvet Underground and Kraftwerk, their set at Body & Soul 2017 could very well be the highlight of the festival.

Songhoy Blues
A veritable melting pot of sound, Songhoy Blues are the perfect band for the Body & Soul vibes this weekend.

Anna Meredith
Electronic composer Anna Meredith will bring something very different to the main stage at Body & Soul 2017 this year.

Austra
No strangers to the Body & Soul stage, Canadian electro-pop band Austra return to Ballinlough Castle as they tour their new album Future Politics.

Talos
Providing one of the albums of the year so far in the shape of his debut outing Wild Alee Talos and Body & Soul 2017 are the perfect match.

Loah
With her debut E.P, This Heart having just been released the summer of 2017 could very well be a memorable one for Loah, starting with Body & Soul.

Ailbhe Reddy
Definitely one of the most promising songwriters in Ireland at the moment, Ailbhe Reddy’s appearance at Body & Soul 2017 should be a must for those who haven’t seen the artist before.

AE Mak
Wonderfully vibrant and individualistic band. AE Mak’s set will be essential viewing at Body & Soul 2017.

TooFools
TooFools are a festival must. Regardless of setting.

Ollie Bell
Up and coming R&B artist Ollie Bell returns to Ballinlough Castle this weekend, bringing new material to the Body & Soul stage crowd.

Elephant
Elephant’s brand new single ‘Waiting Game’ has seen the songwriter really come into his own with a sound that feels complete and depth full. How this translates on-stage will be seen at Body & Soul 2017.

Woodlands Stage

Skott
Swedish alternative pop artist Skott has beguiled many with her stunning singles ‘Porcelain’ and ‘Glitter and Gloss’, the perfect artist for the intimate Woodland Stage setting.

Le Boom
Electro-pop duo Le Boom blew everyone away at Forbidden Fruit last earlier this month, their set to do it again this weekend at Body & Soul.

Elaine Mai
Making a comeback with her The Colour of the Night E.P. Elaine Mai will bring her own take on electronic music to this year’s festival.

Shookrah
Alternative R&B outfit Shookrah have a sound that is entirely their own and must be seen at Body & Soul 2017.

BARQ
I have suggested going to see BARQ at more than a few festivals since they first came onto the scene. If you haven’t seen them, make it your business.

Katie Laffan
Katie Laffan continues to grow as an artist. Her recent output, coupled with several high-profile gigs find Laffan on the cusp of something this summer.

I Have A Tribe
I Have A Tribe plus the Woodland Stage at Body & Soul, is a no brainer.

Pagoda Stage

Melina Malone
Another promising new artist from the BIMM scene. Melina Malone is new songwriter just about to breakthrough.

NC Grey
Soul/Jazz singer NC Grey will make her presence felt on the Pagoda Stage at Body & Soul 2017 this summer.

Zaska
With work on his debut album continuing, Zaska comes out for festival season this summer starting with a set at Body & Soul 2017.

Pine The Pilcrow
Atmospheric folk trio Pine the Pilcrow are yet another band perfectly matched with the Body & Soul festival vibe and setting.

Jafaris
The very definition of a showman.

Wastefellow
Another artist who impressed at Forbidden Fruit, Wastefellow heads to Body & Soul 2017 with a lot of hype behind him.

Wonderlust

Come On Live Long
Having just released their sophomore album In The Still Come On Live Long bring their powerful alternative-pop sound to Body & Soul 2017’s Wonderlust stage.

Lyra
The enigmatic Lyra and the Wonderlust stage at Body & Soul 2017 will make for a memorable festival experience this weekend.

Farah Elle
With her single ‘Silk’, appearance on Bantum’s Choice Music Prize nominated album Move and a string of high-profile festival sets last year Farah Elle continues to be one to watch in 2017.

Crash Ensemble & Katie Kim
Following their sold-out collaborative show at the Grand Social earlier this year, the Crash Ensemble and Kaite Kim take ‘Salt Interventions’ to Body & Soul’s Wonderlust stage.

Arbutus Yarns Stage

FOR FORESTERS

For Foresters
Indie-folk act For Foresters impressed with the deeply atmospheric single ‘Towels’. With an equally powerful live reputation, the Donegal band could steal the show at Body & Soul 2017.

Brendan McGlynn
Something of a chameleon on the Irish music scene, Brendan McGlynn (Lovr, Color//Sound & Raglans) plays the Arbutus Yarns stage at Body & Soul this weekend.

Reckless In Love Stage

Bantum (Live/AV)
Choice Music Prize nominee Bantum will perform a special live A/V set as part of Homebeat’s curated line-up at Reckless In Love.

ELLLL
ELLLL’s set at Bolier Room Dublin last year identified the Cork based electronic artist as a singular talent, along with the equally individualistic ‘Romance’. A definite must see on the Reckless In Love stage.

Body & Soul 2017 music festival will take place from June 23rd to 25th at Ballinlough Castle, County Westmeath. For more information on this year’s festival visit bodyandsoul.ie.
