Listen | TLMT’s 10 Must See Acts at Vantastival 2016

Vantastival 2015

Festival season is about to kick-off this weekend with Vantastival 2016 taking over Beaulieu House, Drogheda. Here’s TLMT’s 10 must see acts, including a full Spotify playlist for your listening pleasure.

Just Mustard – Volkswagon Main Stage: Friday (5pm)
A group who have made a highly impressive start with their recent self-titled E.P. (read TLMT’s full review – here), Just Mustard’s aggressive dream-pop sound will be the perfect opener to Vantastival 2016

Sample Answer – Volkswagon Main Stage: Friday (6pm)
Following his stand-out show at the Grand Social earlier this month Sample Answer returns for what will be yet another stellar appearance this weekend.

Saint Sister – Goldenplec Stage: Friday (9.45pm)
One of Ireland’s most promising acts Saint Sister will play Vantastival 2016 this weekend off the back of their sold-out show at the Unitarian Church last Friday.

Elephant – Goldenplec Stage: Friday (10.50pm)
A songwriter of immense talent, Elephant’s Hypergiant was one of TLMT’s stand-out albums of 2015.

The Hot Sprockets – Volkswagon Main Stage: Friday (12.30am)
Firm favorites on the Irish indie scene the Hot Sprockets never fail to disappoint with their visceral live shows.

Pine The Pilcrow – Volkswagon Main Stage: Saturday (2pm)
With their vastly cinematic alternative-pop sound Pine the Pilcrow will bring Saturday at Vantastival 2016 to a atmospheric beginning.

Fangclub – Volkswagon Main Stage: Saturday (5pm)
Hard-hitting, loud and attention grabbing it’s no wonder why Fangclub are quickly becoming one of Ireland’s most talked about bands.

Elm – Goldenplec Stage: Saturday (6.40pm)
Elm’s baroque-pop tinged with alternative-folk bombast is just as effective live as it is on record. The group’s Goldenplec stage performance this Saturday is sure to be a highlight.

Swords – Goldenplec Stage: Saturday (7.50pm)
After a spending the last year or so in the studio working on their sophomore album, electro-pop trio Swords return with their first festival show of the summer.

Naoise Roo – Goldenplec Stage: Saturday (9pm)
Always uncomprimising and beguiling Naoise Roo is must see in any context, but her late night slot on the Goldenplec Stage at this year’s Vantastival festival promises to be something special indeed.
