20 Must-See Acts at Vantastival 2015

Vantastival 2015 will take place this May Bank Holiday weekend (Friday, May 1st – Sunday, May 3rd) at Bellurgan Park, Co. Louth. With a wide-array of artists performing at this year’s festival TLMT picks its 20 “must-see acts”.

I’m Your Vinyl – Vanhalla Stage: Friday, 8pm
One of the highlights of last year’s HWCH festival I’m Your Vinyl will be sure to impress again on the Vanhalla Stage this weekend.

Naoise Roo – Vanhalla Stage: Friday, 10pm
A fiercely individualistic artist, Naoise Roo’s particular take on brooding alternative-rock could prove to be the perfect match for this year’s Vantastival.

We, the Oceanographers – Cricketers’ Balls Stage:  Friday, 10.30pm
Indie act We, the Oceanographers play the Cricketers’ Balls stage this Friday night. The group recently released their debut album.

Elevation Falls – Goldenplec Grotto: Friday, 10.45pm
An interesting goth-rock band from Dublin coming out of Dublin, Elevation Falls play Goldenplec’s Vantastival stage on Friday.

Elephant – Cricketers’ Balls: Friday, 1am
An immensely talented songwriter and vocal, Elephant plays a late night set at the Cricketers’ Balls stage at 1am on Friday night/Saturday morning.

This Other Kingdom – Goldenplec Grotto: Saturday, 3pm
This Other Kingdom will follow-on from the release of their brilliant debut album Telescopic with a live set at this year’s Vantastival festival.

Plutonic Dust – Vanhalla Stage: Saturday, 7.45pm
A live act on the cusp of something very special, Plutonic Dust have all the ingredients to put on a festival stealing show this Saturday night.

The Flaws – Vanhalla Stage: Saturday, 8.45pm
Indie-rock act the Flaws play the Vanhalla Stage following the release of their new album Springtime for the Flaws earlier this month.

Fierce Mild – Cricketers’ Balls: Saturday, 9.20pm
Firm favorites at TLMT, garage-rock band Fierce Mild are a force to be reckoned with in the live realm. A definite must see.

We Raise Bears – Goldenplec Grotto: Saturday, 9.25pm
Captivating indie-folk duo We Raise Bear’s play the Goldenplec Grotto stage at Vantastival this Saturday night.

R.S.A.G – Goldenplec Grotto: Saturday, Midnight
The immense R.S.A.G comes to play the Goldenplec Grotto at midnight on Saturday. One Ireland’s most visceral live performers.

The Crayon Set – Goldenplec Grotto: Sunday, 1.20pm
Indie-pop group the Crayon Set start off proceedings this Sunday afternoon at Vantastival 2015. Their most recent single ‘Attack’ was a highlight of last year.

Almost Ghosts – Cricketers’ Balls Stage: Sunday, 2pm
Alternative-rock four-piece Almost Ghosts play the Cricketers’ Balls stage on Sunday. The group’s self-titled E.P. was an immersive mix of indie and alt.rock elements.

The Wood Burning Savages – Vanhalla Stage: Sunday, 4.30pm
Coming off the back of their new single ‘Lather, Rinse, Repeat’ the Wood Burning Savages play the Vanhalla Stage this Sunday evening.

Featuring X – Goldenplec Grotto: Sunday, 6.20pm
Featuring X play Vantastival this weekend, following a very impressive set at the recent Canalaphonic festival launch and the release of their hook-laden new single ‘More Than You Can Chew’.

Tell No Foxx – Cricketers’ Balls: Sunday, 8.10pm
Indietronica three-piece bring their expansive, brooding sound to this year’s Vantastival festival, playing on the Sunday night.

New Secret Weapon – Vanhalla Stage: Sunday, 8.45pm
Big, load and uncompromising Dublin alternative-rock trio New Secret Weapon play the Vanhalla stage at Vantastival 2015.

Travis Oaks – Goldenplec Grotto: Sunday, 9.30pm
Upfront blues-rock band Travis Oaks will take their unapologetically energetic live show to the Goldenplec Grotto this Sunday night.

King Kong Company – Vanhalla Stage: Sunday, 10pm
An event in and of themselves. King Kong Company always deliver a rip-roaring show and will be the perfect act to play a late night set on day three of Vantastival.

WOB! – Cricketers’ Balls: Sunday, 10.30pm 
A raucous fusion of styles and sound WOB!’s live show will be well-suited for night-time festival vibe. The group play Vantastival this Sunday at the Cricketers’ Balls stage.
