In this edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to Blooms new single ‘Fall’.
Showcasing a change in mood and tone from the darker inflections found on If, ‘Fall’ has a definite air about it. Within the vast span of space created by the lush electronic production of the music Bloom’s voice, as always, subtle and gently keeps focus.
Sitting above the moving rhythms and huge gradually building washes of glistening synth texture, Louise Cunnane’s ability to convey the emotive aspects of her songwriting is absolutely captivating.
An artist of great promise (who featured in TLMT’s 20 Emerging Acts for 2015) Blooms has given a very promising glimpse into her forthcoming as yet untitled sophomore E.P.
It will be interesting to hear how Cunnane continues to shape and define the her already stylised electronic sound in the future, but as it stands ‘Fall’ is a sublime indication of what’s to come.
