Premiere | “a song that strikes to the core” Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra ‘Scarlet Letter’

Check out the Last Mixed Tape’s exclusive premiere of ‘Scarlet Letter’ the brand new single from Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra.

Taking influence from Nathaniel Hawthorne’s classic novel of the same name, Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra’s ‘Scarlet Letter’ explores the stigma around abortion and bodily anatomy with a track that moves to a slow-burning but unrelenting beat as Sarah Deegan delivers a haunting vocal with a snarl that conveys the meaning of the music.

Mirrored in the music video, directed by Fellipe Lopes and starring activist Lucy Watmough, the music of Pixie Cut Rhythm Orchestra melds monochromatic isolation with a textural and thematically deep backdrop that allows the frustration that flows right through the lyrics, and allows it all to the fore with a song that strikes to the core.
