Electric Picnic 2019 is mere days away and with a wide array of exciting acts set to descend upon Stradbally this year, the Last Mixed Tape has chosen 10 acts not to be missed over the festival weekend.
FRIDAY
David Keenan – Main Stage: 6pm
Few can argue to the enchanting presence and scene-stealing nature of David Keenan both live and in the studio. His music and performances are quickly garnering the artist a reputation as Ireland’s most exciting prospects.
The Claque – Body & Soul Stage: 8.30pm
A clash of noise and alt-rock sensibilities makes for an engrossing, unmistakably urgent sound from the Claque. The group’s recent slot supporting Idles at the Iveagh Gardens was a highlight of the summer.
SATURDAY
Kitt Philippa – Body & Soul Stage: 3.45pm
A songwriter with a haunting, atmospherically weighty music, Kitt Philippa never fails to enrapture a crowd with a sound that draws you in with each passing moment.
Biig Piig – Cosby Tent: 5.15pm
With a lush, D.I.Y neo-soul sound Biig Piig has grabbed the attention of many in 2019, especially with her brand new single ‘Sunny’ which dropped this week.
Just Mustard – Three Made By Music Stage: 5.45pm
Just Mustard continues to build on the strong foundations of their debut album Wednesday with their recent single ‘Frank’ showcasing a definition to the all-encompassing noise that lies at the heart of their music. Their set this weekend will be a captivating one.
Powpig – Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow: 6.40pm
Powgig’s promise grows with each new release and gig. The Limerick-based band will be one of the must-see indie acts at Electric Picnic 2019.
Thumper – Body & Soul Stage: 8.45pm
Unapologetically loud and uncompromising, Thumper will be guaranteed to deliver a take no prisoners set on Saturday night.
SUNDAY
Junior Brother – Body & Soul Stage: 7.15pm
One of the most expressive songwriters on the scene, Junior Brother’s raw unbridled performances are something to behold.
Whenyoung – Body & Soul Stage: 6pm
Whenyoung’s debut album Reasons To Dream has been one of the stand-out records in a year full of them. The trio’s infectious take on indie-pop is just as enthralling live as their studio work.
Æ MAK – Body & Soul Stage: 8.30pm
Æ MAK’s metamorphosis over the last year or so has led to some outstanding performances and new music from the artist in 2019 could very culminate in a captivating turn on the Body & Soul stage.
