Disco-funk outfit Franc Moody return to Dublin on Saturday, April 13th playing the Workman’s Club. Ned Franc and Jon Moody recently spoke to the Last Mixed Tape about what they’re listening to now, what inspires them and their upcoming live show.
What’s the last record you bought?
Jon – Skinshape’s Filoxiny
Ned – Thool’s self-titled release on DEEK Records
What’s the last song you played on Spotify?
Jon – Workin’ by Amber-Simone
Ned – Moon by Joe Hertz
What inspires your music?
We eat ice creams every day we’re in the studio, all year round. The brain freeze gets our minds working. That, and the thought that one-day thousands of people may enjoy ice cream together watching us play live…
How does your music or performance change from studio to the stage?
In the studio it’s just us two. When we play live we add extra human elements to the mix, becoming a 6-piece band. It adds power and rawness to the Franc Moody experience, it’s definitely the best way to enjoy us.
You’ll be playing The Workman’s Club in Dublin soon. What can people expect from your live show?
A jumped up, sweaty, raucous live show for sure. Also if you’ve never seen an Oboe in a club but have always dreamt of such an event, you’re in for a treat.
Franc Moody play the Workman’s Club on Saturday, April 13th. Tickets are priced at €17.50 and are on sale now via theworkmansclub.com.
