New York-based indie outfit Big Thief have announced a second show in Whelan’s next year.
Taking place at the Dublin venue on Sunday, April 1st, the four-piece will now play two Dublin shows next year due to the huge reaction the announcement of their first show on Saturday, March 31st received.
The pair of Whelan’s gigs will come as Big Thief tour their latest studio album Capacity, speaking about the group’s sophomore outing, Adrianne Lenker explains: “There is a darker darkness and a lighter light on this album, the songs search for a deeper level of self-acceptance, to embrace the world within and without. I think Masterpiece began that process, as a reaction from inside the pain, whereas I feel Capacity examines the pain from the outside.”
Tickets for Big Thief live at Whelan’s on April 1st are priced €15 and are on sale now through www.ticketmaster.ie & usual outlets nationwide.
