In this latest edition of The Last Mixed Tape’s song-of-the-week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to Maria Kelly and her latest single ‘Far Below’.

The sweeping textural wash of ‘Far Below’, undercut by the weighty backbone of the track itself, marks a significant jump in sound (and realisation of that sound) from perennial TLMT favorite Maria Kelly.

Taken from Kelly’s forthcoming debut E.P. The Things I Should (due out on May 19th via Veta Records), ‘Far Below’ has an openness to it sonically that it simply pulls you further and further into the alternative-pop tinged production that adds a far-reaching depth of field for Maria Kelly’s enchanting songwriting to occupy.
