The Last Mixed Tape is proud to premiere ‘Black Dress’, the debut single from shimmer-pop act Montauk Hotel.
Coming out with a debut track that sounds like the Cure drenched in shimmering reverb and vivid indie-pop verve, Montauk Hotel’s ‘Black Dress’ is an intro to a band who have already found their music and know exactly how to use it.
Brimming with highly stylised textures, jangled guitars and melody soaked vocals ‘Black Dress’ makes an impact through pin-point shimmer-pop songwriting whilst also giving us a compelling glimpse into Montauk Hotel’s forthcoming self-titled E.P (due for release on March 10th – which will conicide with a launch gig in Whelan’s on the same night).
Montauk Hotel will play the Last Mixed Tape’s 3rd Birthday Show at the Sound House on Thursday, February 2nd alongside Slow Riot and Beach. Entry is FREE, doors are at 8pm.
