Laura Ann Brady’s debut single has been a long time in the making, and with this one release Brady has shirked all expectation and delivered ‘Masterpiece’, a song of deep texture and atmosphere.
A dense tangled layer of harmony, soundscapes and melody, the indie-folk sound of ‘Masterpiece’ is both intimate and ambitious. Every corner of the production is filled with sound as the track quickly builds in a thunderous crescendo that then, suddenly, drifts away.
I had come into ‘Masterpiece’ not expecting to be given a music that is as full of life that I eventually got (I’ll freely admit that), and it was with great pleasure that this initial preconception was turned on its head. Laura Ann Brady has finally arrived.
