In this week’s edition of The Last Mixed Tape’s song-of-the-week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to Maria Kelly and her brand new single ‘Stitches’.

Maria Kelly returns with ‘Stitches’, a song steeped in slow-motion atmosphere and lyrical depth.

Set against a backdrop of long lingering strings and meandering guitar lines, ‘Stitches’ is about regret, loss and hurt. Add to this Kelly’s heart wrenching vocal and you have one of the songwriter’s best records to date.

Simple, understated and honest the scope of Maria Kelly’s music continues to widen with each new release, moving into darker territory than it’s predecessor ‘Black & Blue’, Kelly’s new single ‘Stitches’ is another step in the right direction from an already promising artist.
