In the build-up to Knockanstockan 2016 TLMT has asked acts from this year’s line-up to choose their own festival mixed-tape, and tell us about what they’re looking forward seeing at Blessington in July.

This time it’s the turn of indie-pop band Land Lovers. Read below to see what they had to say and check out who the group have chosen for their Knockanstockan playlist. Photo credit: Ruth Medjber.

It’s great to see Knockanstockan grow year on year to become the festival it is today. The guys definitely deserve all the success and support they get, one of the best small festivals in the country! The gorgeous setting of the Blessington Lakes plays a part, but the tour de force here is the all star, all Irish line up that is a testament to the music coming out of the country at the minute.

As ever, it was difficult to narrow my list down, helped only by the artists unaccounted for on Spotify, but in the end I included some of the Popical Island family, new discoveries and old favourites. Not to say that these categories are mutually exclusive. I’d file them all under ‘Very Good’.

Not enough? Here’s a definitive list of what you should go see, highlighted and colour coordinated by priority.
