In this latest edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to I Have A Tribe and his latest track ‘Buddy Holly’.

The delicate nature of I Have A Tribe’s music cannot be understated. The fragility of the melodies, the intimate atmosphere and Patirck O’Laoghaire’s voice all tip-toe upon one another, giving space to the rising dynamic undercurrent that lies beneath.

On ‘Buddy Holly’, this juxtaposition  weaves itself around the music. The song moves from gentle moments of repose to the pounding percussive passages that bring things to close, all of which highlights I Have A Tribe’s continued growth and brilliance as a songwriter. The music follows the emotion, and the emotion drives the music.
