Glasgow-based indie songwriter Martha Ffion has released her second single on the Turnstile label, ‘Wallflower’.
The latest addition to TLMT’s Press Play playlist, ‘Wallflower’ is indie-pop songwriting at its very best.
“That girl is nothing extra-ordinary. And now, well, you’re worse-off than you were before me” croons Ffion at the song’s opening moments, set to a production that bridges the gap between Alvvays and Rilo Kiley the words have an added sense of needing to be heard.
Through Martha Ffion’s singular voice ‘Wallflower’ is a hazy love song brimming with forlorn hope, reflection and longing. Undeniably infectious, Ffion’s music is one that takes root quickly.
