Electronic duo Contour have revealed their latest track ‘Patternal’, a song inspired by the Syrian refugee crisis.
A quick-stuttering track that moves from beat to beat with a jolt, ‘Patternal’ works on a bed of glitching electronic sounds that support the pointed lyrics and vocal that rest above them.
In the group’s own words the purpose of the song was:
inspired by images of Aylan Kurdi which awakened a lot of people to the gravity of the situation. We are trying to promote donations towards Syrias Vibes , a fundme by Dubliner Calvin James who is going to Syria to help the extremely poor medical system: www.gofundme.com/syriasvibes. Funds raised will be split between PHNX, The Kobane Reconstruction Board and The White Helmets. In the absence of the UN and all major international NGO’s these organizations are providing critical assistance for civilians on the ground.
