In the latest edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to Saint Sister and their latest track ‘Castles’.
The third track to be streamed from Saint Sister’s hotly anticipated debut E.P Madrid, ‘Castles’ is a subdued twinkling affair that once again showcases the atmospheric-folk duo as a group who can create great swells of emotion from sparse, spacious music.
Set to a production that explores the space between notes, the echoing reverberating soundscape that occupies ‘Castles’ is made all the more evocative by introspective lyrics performed with hushed tones and a percussive backdrop that cuts through the gentle sounds in the foreground.
This week Saint Sister will release Madrid in full, and have thus far given us a glimpse at what could very well be one the most stunning debut records of 2015.
