In the latest edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to Slow Riot and their song ‘Demons’.
Taken from Slow Riot’s new E.P. Cathedral, the echoing post-punk ambience of ‘Demons’ provides the perfect backdrop for the group’s brooding music.
The production of the track is pure post-punk brilliance, finding a tonal middle-ground between the sonic light and shade of jangling guitars and clattering rhythms cast in sibilant reverbs.
All of which serves to support the deadpan, yet emotive, lead vocal as Slow Riot build to the affirming crescendo of ‘Demons’, that gives the track a sense of closure and depth.
