Indie acid-house legends Happy Mondays have announced an extra second date in Vicar Street, Dublin on December 11th.
Following the huge demand for their first show in Vicar Street on December 10th, Happy Mondays will now also play the 11th at Dublin venue, as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of their landmark album Pills ‘N’ Thrills and Bellyaches.
Released in 1990 via Tony Wilson’s groundbreaking independent label Factory Records and produced by Paul Oakenfold & Steve Osbourne, Pills ‘N’ Thrills and Bellyaches is one of many high-points to come out of the Manchester music scene dominant reign in 80’s and 90’s.
Featuring several of Happy Mondays most recognizable tracks, including the singles ‘Kinky Afro’ and ‘Step On’, the group’s third record was met with wide-spread acclaim upon it release for its unique merging of electronica and dance rhythms with Manchester’s distinct indie swagger.
Tickets for Happy Mondays second Pills ‘N’ Thrills and Bellyaches 25th Anniversary show in Vicar Street on December 11th will go on sale this Friday (September 25th) and are priced at €35 (including booking) from ticketmaster.ie & outlets nationwide.
