In this edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to My Tribe Your Tribe and their latest single ‘Will To Survive’.
Set to a harsh pulsing electronic beat, ‘Will To Survive’ is a far more tonally atmospheric and turbulent a track than we have seen from My Tribe Your Tribe in the past.
Bathed in a hissing, washing reverberated sound the single works as nice to contrast to the Dublin duo’s previous record ‘Only A Horizon’.
With its popping and clicking electro overtones and strong harmonic undercurrent the is a real sense of depth to ‘Will To Survive’ that finds its centre in the rich dynamically propellent rhythm of song itself.
My Tribe Your Tribe continue to evolve in the build up to their forthcoming debut album next year. How ‘Will To Survive’ sets the scene for this first full-length release remains to be seen, however it does showcase the expanding sound of the group themselves.
