Meltybrains? have unveiled their brand new music video for the group’s current single ‘Donegal’.
Directed by Louise Gaffney, and containing some beautiful use of animation and visual effects the videos for ‘Donegal’ moves with the same moody, atmospheric feel as the single itself.
Populated by wonderfully timed imagery from Gaffney, it begins with subtle but captivating animation dancing upon a spinning record before building to a more frantically edited collage of broader, flashing wide-open shots that juxtapose the video’s (and indeed the music’s) more serene opening. All of which still contained in a monochromatic colour palette.
With the video for ‘Donegal’ Louise Gaffney gives the perfect visual accompaniment to the dynamic, vivid and augmented sound that Meltybrains? convey with their music. Ambient and minimalist in one moment than visceral and ambitious the next Gaffney’s direction matches the music blow for blow.
