Dublin alternative-pop act Come On Live Long have returned with a new single, entitled ‘Trough’.
A gentle and slow-burning piece from the band, ‘Trough’ relies on repose and ambience to create a beautifully harmonic soundscape that surrounds Louise Gaffney hushed vocal.
Subtle and reflective, the production of the track uses the space created within Come On Live Long’s music to give a sense of depth and aspect to the song, underlined by slowly scratching strings and heavy thuds of piano atmospherics.
Texturally grand, Come On Live Long’s latest release is an exciting indication of the band’s forthcoming sophomore album due out this Summer.
Ireland’s current alternative-pop and post-rock scenes seem to be merging into one another of late, with Come On Live Long’s first album (Everything Fall) and new material adding to the bustling creativity that acts like Slow Skies, Katie Kim, Staring At Lakes and I Have A Tribe are also producing at the moment.
Come On Live Long are also set to headline a show in Whelan’s this Friday, January 16th. Doors are at 8pm, tickets are priced at €8 via whelanslive.com.
