First Fortnight: Therapy Sessions at the Workman’s Club
The first in a two-part series of intimate gigs as part of the First Fortnight festival. Performances this Friday night will include music from I Have A Tribe, Oliver Cole & Danny Battles and poetry from Ophelia, Stephen Murray & Genevieve Healy.

Bang-Bangs music festival at the Mercantile (Friday – Sunday)
A mini music festival taking place at the Mercantile this weekend featuring sets from 15 up and coming acts, including Anti One, Ghost Notes, Be Curious Kid,Franko Franko, Amano, Sun Sets Ships, The Dead Sets, Future Phantoms, Riot Tapes, Sinead White, Radio Room, Popgun Warfare, Solid Gold Rocket Ship, Touchwood & Created by Comets.

Saturday, January 3rd:
First Fortnight: Hootenanny at St. Patrick’s Hospital
Songwriter Kevin Nolan will be joined by Tony Wright (VerseChorusVerse), Vivienne Long, Martin Staunton, Tara Lee and The Longtails for a show at St. Patrick Hospital this Saturday.

GIG OT THE WEEKEND: Retro Revival at Sweeney’s bar
Monthly indie club Retro Revival hosts its first show of 2015 with a stellar line-up of acts, including the return of The Urges, promising young London-based Mod band the Turning (who have garnered much attention recently as well as comparisons to Irish rock ‘n’ roll group the Strypes), Penrose and Sex Beasts. DJ sets from Seán Goucher ( The #1s) & Paula Cullen (September Girls).

Sunday, January 4th:
First Fortnight: Co-Motion at St. Stephen Green
A unique event coming as part of the First Fortnight festival, Co-Motion takes “two people, two playlists and a pair of headphone splitters. As they walk together around the Green this randomly paired couple will share a moving musical experience of the songs that resonate with each of them. This is an exercise in breaking down barriers, experiencing indirectly shared emotions, movement and, most of all, music.”
