Tune-Yards announce Vicar Street show

Tune Yards

American indie-pop artist Tune-Yards a.k.a Merrill Garbus has been confirmed to play Vicar Street in Dublin on Tuesday, March 3rd.

Tune-Yards will perform in Vicar Street this March as the artist tours in support of her third studio album Nikki Nack, which featured the stand-out single ‘Water Fountain’.

A musician with an eclectic style and vibrant genre melding production Tune-Yards has a distinct sound within the indie and electro-pop scene. Speaking about the making of Nikki Nack Garbus explains: “We worked with other producers for the first time this time around, which required that I humble myself quite a bit. We’ve worked with other collaborators, of course, like Eli Crews as a recording and mixing engineer again, but to ask Malay (Alicia Keys, Frank Ocean, Big Boi) and John Hill (Rihanna, Shakira, M.I.A.) for input on the tracks I had to let go of tUnE-yArDs being rigidly my production. I have a very specific vision for the sound of the band and I don’t think women producers get enough credit for doing their own stuff, so I was resistant – but we grew, Nate and I both, and the songs grew. And it turns out that’s what’s most important: the songs, not my ego.”

Tickets to see Tune-Yards in Dublin’s Vicar Street venue on March 3rd are priced at €22 (incl booking fee) and will go on sale this Thursday, October 30th at 9am from ticketmaster.ie & Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
