The Mixed-Tape | The Eskies – Jesus Don’t Save Me

In this edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention to the Eskies brand new single ‘Jesus Don’t Save Me’.

Blending dixieland brass and jolting trad percussion tinged with alternative-folk grit, ‘Jesus Don’t Save Me’ blares out of the speakers with all the infectious rhythm and energy of the Eskies live shows.

With the song’s up-tempo pace the music simply bounds and pounds around from one hook-laden call and response section to the next.

Featuring turbulent melody and harmony, the single is a densely woven and full formed production that constantly introduces new elements into the ever-growing spectrum of the Eskies’ folk infused music.

A recording that more than matches the propelled power of the Dublin band’s sound, ‘Jesus Don’t Save Me’ is an exciting indication of the group’s direction in the build up to the release of their debut album After The Sherry Went Round next year.

It is for these reasons that ‘Jesus Don’t Save Me’ by the Eskies is this week’s addition to The Mixed-Tape. The single itself is out now via iTunes.
