Alternative-rock trio Half of Me have released their new music video for the single ’99’.
Directed by Padraig Baggot, the video centers around a brilliantly designed robot as he moves through his day.
With the gritty night-time visuals, nicely composed cinematography from Richard Twomey and low-lighting, Baggot builds the world around the central character to level wherein his existence and daily routine seem natural to the environment.
Following his story-arc from a lonely outcast to acceptance in the video’s well-timed choreographed dance finale, the video works as the perfect companion to Half of Me’s screeching, off-kilter alternative-rock sound.
A percussively propelled single, ’99’ jolts and crackles with the band’s unique take on the alternative-rock genre imbued with hook-laden guitars and menacing beats.
