Seminal Cork based alternative-rock act the Altered Hours have released a new three track mini E.P. entitled Outskirts.

The band who are currently preparing to release their debut album have unveiled the extended play which contains new material including the songs ‘Joy’, ‘I’m on a High’ & ‘Outskirts’.

Centred around a very definite tone and atmosphere the three tracks on Outskirts are an intriguing glimpse into how the Altered Hours sound continues to evolve in the build-up to their debut L.P.

And while the E.P’s title does allude to these tracks being off-shots of the album rather than part of the record itself, the music (as is always the case with the band) stands-up with its own sense of place and sound.

The Last Mixed Tape was lucky enough to speak to band member Elaine Howley while the band recorded their forthcoming album in Berlin, click here to read more.
