The Hard Ground – Deep in Green

Triptych: One E.P

The Hard Ground have unveiled the music video for ‘Deep in Green’, taken from the band’s upcoming E.P. Triptych: 2.

Filmed by Barra Vernon, the vibrating, shuddering turbulence of colour and rippling water that forms the videos central dominant visual is clear and crafted parallel to the slow-burning, more ominous tone of the Hard Ground’s latest single.

While Vernon and the Hard Ground’s pervious collaboration resulted in the joyously off-kilter surrealism of the ‘Belles & Beaux’ video, this outing finds the director following the darker reflective sound of the forthcoming second instalment in the Triptych E.P. series.

Subtle changes, flourishes of movements and colour, patterns and swirls of design work to progress the minimal scope of ‘Deep in Green’. Keeping in with the tonal departure from Triptych: 1 it’s interesting to see how both the band and film-maker have worked together to ensure this mood is not just felt musically but also visually.
