Alternative-folk trio Wyvern Lingo have released their latest music video for ‘Used’, the closing track on their debut E.P. The Widow Knows.
Directed by Patrick Ryan and produced by Lagoon Pictures, the video for ‘Used’ is a highly stylised visual translation of the ethereal nature of Wyvern Lingo’s beautifully crafted folk sound.
Containing some brilliantly realised production design, costume design and make-up, the imagery is evocatively surrounded by the deep visual scope and mystique of the forest locale captured through some stunning cinematography.
Translating the bewitching and ominous sound of ‘Used’, driven forward by the group’s ornately structure vocal harmonies, the sparsely leafed maze of entangled sharp branches and deep-dark worn woodland surround the characters in an uneasy, ambiguous setting, emphasised by the more green light embracing locale of the finale. Mirroring the perfectly matched conceptual narrative and music.
A video that convey’s the beguiling sound of Wyvern Lingo’s haunting new E.P, Ryan, Lagoon Pictures and their team meld the music and visuals together to result in a cohesive artistic expression from both the film-makers and the musicians.
