The Barr Brothers set for Whelan’s show this October

the Barr Brothers

Experimental-folk act the Barr Brothers have confirmed they will play Whelan’s in Dublin on Friday, October 24th.

Following the Canadian four-piece’s set on the Other Voices stage at Electric Picnic 2014, the Barr Brothers will return to Ireland for a show in Whelan’s in support of their forthcoming album Sleep Operator.

Due for release on October 6th via Secret City records, the release of tracks such as ‘Love Ain’t Enough’ and ‘Even the Darkness Has Arms’ have given a glimpse into the large-scale production of the record while also conveying the harmonically rich, textural nature of the group’s sound that experiments while also keeping the band’s pop sensibilities intact. It will be interesting to hear how the full album keeps this shape tonally.

Tickets to see the Barr Brothers in Whelan’s main venue are priced at €16 and are on sale now via whelanslive.com. Doors at 8pm.
