Features The Mixed-tape

The Mixed-Tape | The Hot Sprockets – Homeslice

The Hot Sprockets

In this edition of our song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape  we turn our attention to the Hot Sprockets and their song ‘Homeslice’.

Taken from the group’s seminal new album Brother Nature ‘Homeslice’ is the key moment of repose in a record brimming with blistering blues-rock brilliance.

Showcasing a serene dynamic aspect and alternative-folk side to the Hot Sprockets’ music, the track opens the scope of the band’s sound to a deeper reverberated landscape.

Infused with the indie act’s distinctly bombastic ability to jump to large-scale bursts of melody, harmony and rhythm, ‘Homeslice’ works to encapsulate and merge the multitude of influences that comprises the Hot Sprockets sound, and indeed it’s parent L.P Brother Nature.

It is for these reasons that ‘Homeslice’ by the Hot Sprockets is this week’s addition to The Mixed-Tape. The song’s parent album Brother Nature, is out now (read our review here). To read previous additions to the feature click here or you can listen to all the tracks via our Spotify playlist
