Marc O’Reilly & the Hard Ground announce double-headline shows

Songwriter Marc O’Reilly and alternative-folk five-piece the Hard Ground are set to perform a pair of double-headline shows in Cork and Dublin this October.

The two acts will combine forces for a show at the Grand Social in Dublin on October 8th and will perform the following night (October 9th) at the Oliver Plunkett in Cork which will be presented by Coughlan’s Live Promotions.

Marc O’Reilly’s sophomore album Human Herdings was greeted with critical acclaim upon its release earlier this year. A vivid take on the singer-songwriter genre, the record merges various roots inspired genres into one cohesive melting pot of blues, folk and alternative-rock. Regular readers to the Last Mixed Tape will be very aware of the Hard Ground’s seminal E.P. Triptych: One. Appearing at number one in my recent Top 5 E.P’s of the year so far… the four-track release is a stunning example of Ireland’s currently bustling music scene.

With the promise of the next installment in the Triptych E.P. series forthcoming it will be interesting to hear how the group continue this momentum. Read T.L.M.T’s full review of Triptych: One here.
