10 must see acts at Sea Sessions 2014

Sea Sessions 2014 will take place this Friday,June 27th to Sunday, June 29th in Bundoran, County Donegal. With a myriad of artists performing at the summer music & surfing festival here is the Last Mixed Tape’s 10 must see acts.

Pørts – Main Stage, Friday June 27th (19.15 – 20.00)
A band with a strong sense of dynamic range within their music Pørts (formally Little Bear) will bring their alternative-rock sound to the scenic surroundings of Bundoran this weekend.

New Secret Weapon – Vodafone Stage, Friday June 27th (21.20 – 22.00)
Dublin trio New Secret Weapon will take to the Vodafone stage on Friday night. A group with a powerfully visceral style their performance this weekend will provide a palpable energy to the festival.

The Vincent(s) – Vodafone Stage, Friday June 27th (20.20 – 20.50)
Death-pop outfit the Vincent(s) continue to broaden the boundaries of their music with each new recording. A live act that more than matches their studio work, the five-piece have carved out reputation as one of the countries most formidable live acts.

Chanele McGuinness – Vodafone Stage, Saturday June 28th (19.00 – 19.30)
Singer-songwriter Chanele McGuinness is an artist currently on the ascendancy. This is in no small part due to the musician’s distinctive take on the alternative-pop genre blending a myriad of sounds, techniques and influences into her own vivid musical tapestry.

In Their Thousands – Vodafone Stage, Sunday June 29th (17.15 – 17.45)
In Their Thousands’ alternative-folk sound has a powerfully evocative effect found not only in the group’s recent series of E.P’s but also in their engaging live performances. Coupled with the unique setting of the Sea Sessions music festival, the four-piece will be one of the most captivating bands performing this weekend.


Walking On Cars – Main Stage, Saturday June 28th (19.45 – 20.30)
Indie outfit Walking On Cars’  highly-stylized singles ‘Tick Tock’ and ‘Two Stones’ showcased a defined sense of direction sonically. The band will bring this expansive sound to the Main Stage at Sea Sessions 2014 this Saturday night.

Raglans – Vodafone Stage, Saturday June 28th (00.00 – 01.00)
Dublin rock act Raglans’ recent self-titled début was met with much acclaim and highlighted their ability to translate the energetic tone of the group’s live shows into the studio. Always enthralling, Raglans will headline the Vodafone stage on Saturday.

The Strypes – Main Stage, Saturday June 28th (22.15 – 23.30)
Rock ‘n’ Roll inspired four-piece the Strypes captured the imagination of not only the Irish music scene but also the world with their raucous first album Snapshot. With a pin-point ability to convey the aggressive energy and swagger of their influences during live performances the Cavan natives set on the Main Stage is one not to be missed.

Little Matador – Vodafone Stage, Sunday June 29th (21.00 – 22.00)
Grabbing much attention with their recent début L.P Little Matador continue to gain momentum with the alternative-rock outfit performing at several high-profile festivals this summer including a set at Sea Sessions this Sunday night.

Corner Boy – Vodafone Stage, Friday June 27th (18.40 – 19.10)
A group with a real commitment to touring, Corner Boy have worked hard to perfect the organic alternative-folk sound of their current E.P True North. A band with a powerful, live show Corner Boy will perform this Friday evening on the Vodafone Stage at Sea Sessions.
