Hard Working Class Heroes is set to return to Dublin this October and has put out the call for artists to apply for the 2014 line-up.

Taking place from Thursday, October 2nd to Saturday, October 4th, the annual showcase festival and conference for new music & technology Hard Working Class Heroes will return to the capital city. This year HWCH have also announced that HMV Ireland will be the event’s main sponsor.

Speaking about move, HMV’s Head of Music Chris Keena states “HWCH is an excellent event and provides a very important platform for emerging Irish talent, and as such, is an excellent fit for HMV.  We are committed to supporting Irish music, and our sponsorship of this festival further demonstrates this commitment in a tangible way that will be of benefit to the participating artists. Over the weekend of the event HMV will be on site with pop-up shops featuring releases by participating bands.  We’ll be hosting a programme of HMV workshops featuring key HMV personnel, providing advice on how HMV Digital, HMV.ie and HMV Retail can help to bring the artist direct to market.  In addition, we will also use our network of HMV stores in Dublin as venues for exclusive in-store promotional events.”

With HWCH constantly searching for the best in new Irish music (previous acts to play the event include September Girls, Hozier, Elastic Sleep, Villagers, Lisa O’Neill and Fight Like Apes) the festival is now looking for acts to apply to play as part of this year’s line-up.

Applications will be through First Music Contacts’s own Breaking Tunes site, log on to hwch.net now and click on the “BANDS APPLY HERE” button. Closing date for applications is July 16.

Early bird tickets to Hard Working Class Heroes 2014 are priced at €35 (plus booking fees) via entertainment.ie until July 16th. After which tickets will cost €45.00 (Weekend tickets plus fees) & €20 (Nightly tickets plus fees).
