Synth-pop trio Swords have announced they will play their only summer show next month at the Button Factory in Dublin on Friday, July 25th.
With the release of their breakthrough début album Lions & Gold last year Swords conveyed the strong depth of field, atmosphere and palpable pop-sensibilities that makes their singular sound so engaging.
Songs such as ‘All The Boys’, ‘Hips’ and ‘Wicklow’ all capture the broad and engrossing stylistic flourishes of the Dublin band’s musical leanings, while the album as a whole works as one the great Irish-indie débuts.
Supporting Swords on the night will be songwriter Deaf Joe who recently released his sophomore L.P From The Heights of a Dream (read The Last Mixed Tape’s review here) and Cork-based dream-pop outfit Elastic Sleep whose brilliant E.P Leave You (T.L.M.T review here) has propelled the band to forefront of the Irish music scene.
Tickets to see Swords with support from Deaf Joe & Elastic Sleep at the Button Factory on July 25th are priced at €10. For more information visit buttonfactory.ie. Doors at 7.30pm.
