Next month will see the opening of a brand new alternative club night in Whelan’s called Seven Quarters 7″ singles club.
The inaugural show on Friday April 25th will see the ever brilliant Katie Kim take to the stage, as well as alternative-folk musician Jennifer Evans. With the first 150 people into the club receiving a free 7″ vinyl single, a feature that will continue with each Seven Quarters 7″ single club night.
Conceived as part of Whelan’s 25th anniversary celebrations by Barry Lennon of Richter Collective, Community Of Independents and Hands Up Who Wants To Die, the club will take place 4 times a year with the second show taking place on June 20th.
Speaking about the forthcoming Seven Quarters Club night in April, Lennon stated “I am very excited to launch this club with Katie Kim and Jennifer Evans playing, it’s a great honour to work with these two amazing acts. I hope each limited edition release the club does will help document and highlight the amazing inspirational musicians and sometimes unspoken talent we have in Ireland”.
Tickers for the Seven Quarters 7″ single night on Friday, April 25th are priced at €10, doors at 8pm. For more information visit the Facebook event page.
