Alternative-rock outfit Windings have unveiled their latest music video for the single ‘Neverwood’.
Created by Garry Carroll, the video’s surreal visual of hamsters replacing the band member’s highlights the fun, vibrant pulse of Windings new single.
Moving from a flat backdrop, the visuals become increasingly more kaleidoscopic. As the band’s thrashing guitar driven sound infused with swirling organ builds, so does the scope and colour palette of Carroll’s direction resulting in several quirky sequences that are hard not to find oddly hypnotic.
With each rumble of rhythm from ‘Neverwood’s sonic backbone reinforcing the interweaving melodic guitar parts, Winding’s alternative-rock leanings are perfectly off-set with the group’s new wave sensibilities. The harmonic richness of the single is captured within the softly performed vocals juxtaposed by the more harsh edges of their music.
Working together in tandem, both video and single encapsulate the fun, quirky tone of Windings’ sound and serves as a pulsating, frantic introduction to the band’s forthcoming limited 12″ vinyl split L.P with Land Lovers set to be released via Popical Island/Out on a Limb records on February 28th.
Both Windings and Land Lovers will play a pair of shows this March at Dolan’s in Limerick on Friday, March 7th and The Workman’s Club, Dublin on Saturday, March 8th.
