The Mixed-Tape | Galants – Seventeen

Galants - Seventeen

In the latest edition of T.L.M.T’s song of the week feature The Mixed-Tape we turn our attention Galants and their new single ‘Seventeen’.

Following on from their previous single ‘This Is Heaven’, Dublin band Galants release ‘Seventeen’ a post-punk tinged new track propellent with pounding rhythms and swaying melody.

Caught in the crunching aesthetic of a single’s post-punk production and performed with an underlined malaise, ‘Seventeen’ crashes with forceful beats, colliding guitars and up-close vocals. Leaving a sound that feels pointed and stripped back of all unnecessary elements.

With ‘This Is Heaven’ and now ‘Seventeen’, Galants have matured and redefined their sound considerably since the days of ‘Howling//Silver’. Their music has a more directed style to it, resulting in a far more engaging melding of indie-pop melodies and alternative-rock grit.
